It starts with you.

The mission of the Middle Georgia Honor Flight does not even leave the ground without the support of volunteers. Whether it's handing out information at a public event or traveling with the veterans to DC, we are always in need of people willing to contribute their time and abilities to help our veterans have this unique experience.

Become a Volunteer

Working an information booth at the fair, distributing flyers to VA's and local businesses, picking up a veteran from their house and getting them to the airport, organizing a fundraiser, clerical work, answering phones, welcoming veterans home from an honor flight - the list goes on and on. If you're interested in making the Middle Georgia Honor Flight's mission a success we would love to hear from you - just let us know how you think you would be able to help, what you would like to do, and when you would be available.

Become a Guardian

Guardians are one of the most important types of volunteers to help the Middle Georgia Honor Flight and play a significant role on every trip: ensuring that every veteran has a safe and memorable experience. A Guardian will often be paired with a single veteran, who they will be with both to-and-from the airport, throughout the tour of Washington DC, sit with on the charter bus, and eat with at any restaurant stopped at.

Anyone from 18-60 years old and in good health can be a Guardian - whether you want to help have a positive impact on the lives of the men and women who have served our country or are a child or grandchild of a veteran and are looking to make a memory with them - there are many different motivations to take on this responsibility and it is invaluable to both the Middle Georgia Honor Flight and to the veterans themselves.
