Ben Sandifer

Ben Sandifer, Media Coordinator

Ben Sandifer first got involved with Middle Georgia Honor Flight as a member of the working media, where he collected some incredible stories for “The Greatest Memories” podcast. This experience motivated Ben to get further involved with publicity for Middle Georgia Honor Flight, and to research his late father’s service as a member of PT Boat Squadron 17 in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Ben is the managing partner of GMS Advertising & Productions. He is an inductee in the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame and the lay leader at Park Memorial United Methodist Church in Macon. A musician since he was 8 years old, Ben plays bass guitar, flute and saxophone with the classic rock band Greg and the Blue Notes.

Mike Bazemore

Bernadette Vasque Johnson, I've been a member of the MGHF since.   My father and sister were naval officers. My father retired after 23 years of service and my sister retired after 25 years. My younger sister served in the Army for a combined  22 years. I have a degree in marketing and I am a certified customer service specialist since 2004.  I am a Station Manager with Contour Airlines since 2017. I also travel the country TDY for Contour. I assist with opening a station and facilitate ground support. Reinforce communications between airport and airline services and much more. Being a board member allows me to serve our veterans with pride and humility. It is the most important thing I do.

Mike Bazemore’s journey with Middle Georgia Honor Flight began after serving as a Guardian alongside his father-in-law, a Korean War veteran. Witnessing firsthand the profound impact of honoring those who served inspired Mike to continue supporting the mission of recognizing America’s veterans.

With more than 45 years of experience in the financial and industrial sectors, Mike has built a career defined by leadership, operational excellence, and a steadfast commitment to safety and compliance. His professional expertise spans managerial and operational roles, including financial analysis, underwriting and commercial lending, IT systems, HR management, contract negotiation, and adherence to industry safety standards.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mike is deeply committed to serving his community. He contributes his construction skills to Habitat for Humanity, supports faith-based outreach through Northway Church, and dedicates time and energy to ensuring veterans receive the honor they deserve through Middle Georgia Honor Flight.

At the heart of Mike’s life is family. He and his wife, Cathy, are proud parents of two daughters and their spouses, and they cherish time with their two grandchildren, who bring joy and laughter to their days. For Mike, balancing professional dedication, community service, and family life has been the cornerstone of his journey.
